Chisinau, Moldova (May 2026)

What a City!! Considering Chisinau is billed as the least visited Capital City in the least visited Country in Europe, it sort of reduces your expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Of course there aren’t lots and lots of things to do at every corner but there is certainly enough to fill a short weekend break.

Hotel – Art Hotel

The hotel was ideally located with just a 10 minute quick stroll to the main City Centre.

I arrived at 2am and the hotel has 24 hour reception so there were no issues with getting inside and having to track somebody down.

The hotel is very clean and the rooms are extremely modern and well equipped.

Overall the hotel stay was excellent.

Site Seeing

The city is easily walkable and we took a walk down Stefan Cel Mare Si Sfant Boulevard where most of the architecture and small parks are located and walked to the Valea Morilor Lake where the above photo was taken.

We also visited the Military Museum, which was free to enter and was a massive surprise at just how much there was to see and how much information there was.

Bars

By far our favourite bar we visited was Casaroz Bar with stunning architecture and amazing cocktails with such a great laid back vibe.
